Tangerines in caramel "New Year"

Caramelized tangerines, this is a real New Year's dessert. After all, now they are in every home and it will not be difficult to prepare these delicious bright New Year's balls. Don't be intimidated by the alcohol in the recipe, it will completely evaporate. If you are going to make a dessert just for kids, just eliminate the recipe.

Mandarin 10-12 pcs

Sugar 120 g

Water 120 ml

Cognac 30 ml


Wash and peel the tangerines. Put in a deep dish and pierce each with a toothpick 5-7 times in different places.

Pour sugar into a saucepan and put on fire.

While stirring, bring to a caramel color (light), as it cools, it will darken, if you overdo it, a burnt aftertaste will appear.

Add water and cognac.

Put the saucepan over low heat and bring to a homogeneous mass, stirring occasionally.

Pour the caramel syrup over the tangerines. Put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours (at best, overnight). You can flip the tangerines from top to bottom several times.

Put the finished dessert on a dish. Our tangerines in caramel "New Year" are ready. Can be served to the New Year's table.
