Tomatoes in the snow

Avoid adding too much spice to this recipe, as the delicious meaty tomatoes soak up the garlic aroma and take on a rich marinade flavor.

Cooking time 30 minutes


Tomatoes 2 kg

Allspice peas

Head of garlic 2 pcs

Water 1 l

Sugar (sand) 4 tbsp. l.

Salt 2 tbsp l.

Vinegar essence 70% 1/2 tsp


Wash and dry the tomatoes well.

Put only allspice and peas in clean jars, 4-5 pieces each.

Put the tomatoes tightly into the jars. Pour boiling water over, cover and leave for 20 minutes.

Drain the water into a saucepan, add 4 tbsp for 1 liter. tablespoons of sugar, 2 tbsp. tablespoons of salt. Boil the marinade well and add 1/2 teaspoon of vinegar essence per liter of marinade.

Add 1 tbsp to jars of tomatoes. Spoons of chopped garlic in each jar. Pour marinade over.

Tighten with lids and put in a blanket for 12 hours.

Tomatoes with garlic are ready for the winter. Keep in the cellar.
