Easter cake "Poppy"

The most delicious Easter cake is a handmade cake. Easter cake "Poppy" cannot be compared with the purchased one!

Cooking time 2 hours 40 minutes


Wheat flour 500-600 g

Skimmed milk 200 ml

Sour cream 10% fat. 4 tbsp. l.

Dry yeast 10 g

Sugar (sand) 200 g

Butter 50 g

Eggs 3 pcs

Poppy 3 tbsp. l.

Vanillin 1 g

Protein glaze

Confectionery dressing


In a bowl, combine sour cream, salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar.

Add warm milk and yeast. Mix well and leave for 20 minutes.

Pour the matched yeast into a large and spacious bowl. Add eggs and melted butter.

Add vanillin and baking powder.

Add sugar.

Add half of the sifted flour in portions.

Leave the dough to rise for 2 hours.

Add the second part of flour and poppy seeds.

Knead the dough well and leave in a warm place for another 2 hours.

Knead the dough and put in molds greased with vegetable oil, filling 2/3 of the volume.

Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees C for 25-30 minutes. Cool the finished Easter cakes.

Coat with protein glaze and sprinkle with pastry sprinkles. Our Easter cake "Poppy" is ready.
