Heh from herring

For connoisseurs of marinated fish and vegetables, we suggest trying to cook herring heh, tender pieces of which will impress lovers of Korean cuisine.

Cooking time 30 minutes


Herring 2 pcs

Carrot 1 pc

Onion 1 pc

Vinegar 100 ml

Soy sauce 4 tbsp l.

Sugar 1 tsp

Salt 1/2 tsp

Ground red pepper 1/2 tsp.


Defrost herring at room temperature, rinse and dry.

Remove the head, viscera fins.

Remove skin and bones, cut completely into fillets.

Cut the fillet into pieces.

Pour 100 ml of 9% vinegar into a bowl. Add pieces of herring and leave for 30 minutes.

Peel the onion and cut into half rings, peel the carrots and grate on a Korean grater.

Put the vegetables in a bowl, add 1 teaspoon of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Add 4 tbsp. tablespoons of soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon of red ground pepper.

Add 2-3 cloves of compressed garlic.

Stir vegetables and add fish pieces to them.

Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and stir.

Cover with foil and refrigerate for 3 hours.

Put the finished snack on a plate.

Herring heh is ready. Can be served with a festive table.
