Meatballs with rice and vegetables


Beef 450 g

Onion 1 pc

Garlic clove 2 pcs

White bread slice 2 pcs

Egg 1 pc

Dried basil 1/2 tsp

Long grain rice 200 g

Green peas (frozen) 100 g

Bell pepper 1 pc

Tomato paste 80 g

Vegetable oil

Green onion (feather)

Salt to taste

Ground black pepper to taste

Pass the meat, onions, garlic and bread slices through a meat grinder.

Add salt to taste, basil, pepper and egg. Mix well.

Disassemble into small portions and roll into balls.

Fry in a small amount of vegetable oil until half cooked.

Fry the rice in a pan.

Add 1 glass of water, tomato paste and a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil. Cook over medium heat until rice is half cooked. Salt a little.

When more water has boiled away, add diced peppers and green peas.

Add meatballs and some more water. Cover and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat. Shake the pan a couple of times from side to side, but do not stir, otherwise the rice will turn into porridge.

Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with finely chopped green onions.
